The Cheshire Police tax is to rise - with 68 per cent public backing, according to a survey published in the Knutsford, Northwich and Wilmslow Guardian on 29th. January).
This reveals, once again, the innate generosity of the people of Cheshire. A big majority of those surveyed said that they would be happy to pay more in tax on the public services they value.
Contrary to what is often stated by some politicians and some parts of the media, not everyone is driven by personal avarice: in fact, most of us have a strong sense of social responsibility towards those less fortunate than us.
The outcome of this survey is hugely reassuring and encouraging.
